Turn the page and commence

Written by on June 6, 2012

This week, my kind and gentle daughter Emily graduates from David Douglas High School. I’m so proud of her! She’s persevered through all kinds of obstacles to burst through the ribbon at the finish line.

Graduation is often called “commencement.” How awesome is that? It’s not over. It’s just getting started.

I can see Jesus standing beside me and
holding my hand, and I can see him holding
your hand Lynn, and Emily’s. Faith has to
have something to believe in. These pictures
were not always a part of me. Faithful Jesus
has lead me to this place, and He will lead us all past the obstacles to His smiling face,
and open arms. I thank the Lord today for
taking Emily to this ribbon, and to all the
    others. Thank you Lynn. Jeannie

Commencement. Yes, though graduation is the recognition of the completion of some great effort, and that completion is just the beginning of new opportunities.
May God give us the strength to continue to grow in Him. “For just as the branch cannot bear any fruit unless it shares the life of the vine, so you can produce nothing unless you go on growing in me.” May those new opportunities allow us the privilege of growing in Him.

Susan, you always have the wonderfullest comments! I pray we stay connected to the life of the vine, Christ Himself. Glad His life is ours. I think I’ll continue to grow till forever. Glad you look forward to the same.
