Friend, right now I’m reflecting on the impact your stories have on the world.
For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God. (Colossians 1:9-10).
Each of us tells our stories in our own ways. We live a life of wisdom—not ours, but His, as we grow in fathoming His precious fruit. Maybe we send a text or two to friends. A tweet. An poem or article for a periodical. Or a novel.
I write to give voice to my heart’s song.
I write to pour my soul’s laments onto a page.
I write in the hope of growing in forgiveness and grace, falling into sync with the Word as it tugs on my sleeve and tells me to love others better.
I write to chronicle my tortoise-like journey of spiritual growth. I remind myself, “Don’t push yourself so hard. Remember the clots! Slow but steady wins the race.”
I catch myself racing around like a Hare, and chide myself for two steps forward, three steps back.
I glance up at the cross and blow out a shaky breath. Whew! That was covered by the cross, too.
I pray the explosive, expansive power of God is unleashed in the messages you write, and the publishers, editors, and readers who your words impact have enormous God-shifts in their spirits.
I pray the ruach of the Holy Spirit stirs as you co-create with Elohim.
For every fiery dart the enemy has used to torch you, you’ve got to return the fire. The number one weapon in your ammo bay? Your testimony.
How has God’s forgiveness stirred your soul and provided the mighty Medal of Valor?
There is a powerful territory in the supernatural pounding beneath your stomping feet, awakening the hearts of His children as your newly-penned words of mercy and grace race around the world.
The multi-dimensional nature of God unleashed on earth as it is in heaven.
From glory to inexorable glory.
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Imagine the possibilities!
