Joyful Intentionaltiy

I’m very excited to tell you about Joyful Intentionality—the new release by Allison Bown!

Allison Bown is my friend, mentor, and Director of Graham Cooke‘s intercessory team The Warrior Class. I have the privilege of being a member of The Warrior Class, and am on a team called the Freedom Fighters. I adore Allison. She’s vulnerable and transparent. She’s taught me the authenticity of possibilities! She collaborates with Graham and Team Brilliant in developing creative, powerful ways for people to discover a dynamic relationship with God.

The top-shelf precepts and language of Joyful Intentionality are on par with Graham’s PhD-level material. Here’s what I love:

  • The book’s layers of rereadable personal and historical narratives, Scriptural stories, and prophetic principles, such as the timing for giving, receiving, and tracking prophetic words.
  • 7 mindsets of joyfully intentional people and 5 tools for building an intentional life with God.
  • A steady stream of quality thought-provoking and discussion-generating questions.
  • Practical and creative ideas for journaling and charting our spiritual growth.
  • Within the book’s pages, Allison mentors, applauds, validates, challenges, chuckles, queries, stirs to action, and teaches us how to love.
  • Every page explores the Adventurer’s fresh, authentic Holy Spirit-led journey.
  • I give Joyful Intentionality the highest recommendation. 5 stars, all the way!

Hi Lynn! I’m becoming more intentional about following up those little promptings, those random dreams, and anything that I feel like there’s the breath of God on. What is that funny dream with a friend in it is the start of an intercession assignment? What if that unshakable burden to pray for someone or something is the Lord inviting you to partner with Him in something? I am asking, what are you doing here Lord, and what would you like me to do to partner with you? It’s amazing what He is opening up! Blessings, love Vic

      Victoria,
God-promptings are so beautiful since God’s breath is all over them. Partnering with Him to do His will opens up so many possibilities. I pray God-possibilities for you right now!

I am more intentional about becoming optimistic and positive. As soon as I feel hurt, angry, sad or frustrated, I step back, ask the Holy Spirit for a cheerful attitude and face the problem again. It has brought a joy to my heart. I am excited to see what else the Holy Spirit is going to do.

Nancey, great comment. I’m intent on being positive as I reframe events on heaven’s terms. I need to get into the habit of framing it that way in the first place! Then I wouldn’t have to REframe later!

I am becoming more intentional about finding ways to speak life to people who seem depressed, hopeless or just need encouragement. Life-speaker is part of my identity and I am intentional about seeing it grow.

    • Lynn Hare   On   July 24, 2015 at 3:20 pm

Peggy, what if we all spoke life into people every day like you? We’d turn the world upside down! I love the name Life-speaker. Just saying that name brings my soul peace.

Thanks Lynn! You are one of the most wonderfully intentional people I know and a lovely writer. I’m so glad the book connected with you and I’m appreciative to all of your readers for checking it out (and entering your Giveaway!). This book comes not only from my own journey, but that of so many others who have spent years “trying-harder-to-do-better-for-God”. I’ve discovered that even our sincere desire for growth can easily slip into a performance mindset. In fact, the key to transformation turned out to be realizing what those mindsets were and the delightful, relational God thoughts that He had instead! I also love bringing real tools for folks to explore so that it’s not all theoretical learning – and that’s in here too. We’re hearing from lots of readers who feel encouraged, equipped and empowered in fresh relationship with Jesus… which was the whole reason for writing it! I’m feeling pretty grateful these days.

    • Lynn Hare   On   July 24, 2015 at 3:34 pm

Allison, I aspire to write about love as wide, high, long and deep as you! I’m writing my first book, one on self-forgiveness, and I figure if you can do it, so can I. Readers feeling encouraged, equipped, empowered – that’s a huge bit of “on earth as it is in heaven.”

I am being more intentional on how I spend my devotional time. As I do that, I’m growing more aware of nudgings by the Holy Spirit, which often indicate I should take a “risk” and do something outside of my comfort zone. I have been experiencing an amazing spiritual growth spurt in recent months. Thank you for contributing to that. 😉

    • Lynn Hare   On   July 25, 2015 at 4:21 pm

Natine, I love what you said about taking risks! What dies when we take a risk? What explodes wide open (in a good way)?
