An act of God can’t be stopped

Pipe dreams.

I thought maybe I’d have the manuscript for my first book in hand by now. But no, there have been a number of setbacks this year, including a painful time of recovery from a car accident in February.  So I asked God for Holy Spirit eyes—how does He view obstacles?

Just as they’ve been for me, have the last few months been for you a rich source of  connectedness with Him who provides times of meditation? Have you had a chance to reframe this season and then share it with others? God wants us to know Him deeper. Richer. Fuller.

When we get frustrated, let’s go to Acts 5:38,39, when Gamaliel says of Peter and the other apostles, “If this plan or action is of men, it will be overthrown; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them; or else you may even be found fighting against God.”

God’s plan can’t be thwarted. Our Heavenly Father’s timing, like His will, is good and pleasing and perfect.

What plans are you reshuffling as God forges on ahead?

Just what I needed to hear! When life isn’t going according to “my plans”, my hope is that God’s plan is good, pleasing and perfect.

When the Holy Spirit’s power falls on us there’s going to be a response, an action, a faith filled deed accomplished. It is felt like a gentle rain or soft breeze or imperative. Like a spark or wind like on the day of Pentecost. Any way, shape, or form we will know the Almighty has moved us.He cannot be stopped. Thank you Jesus!
    And thank you Lynn!

Jeannie, yes, Holy Spirit breath and fire all in one! When He moves, He moves with intentionality. Thanks for reminding us about Pentecost. You made my day!

What has he shuffled around? Well, new job offer a few days ago, doing something advanced that will bless me with experience in higher ed, a field I would like to work in. What has he shuffled around? I got turned down for a scholarship last year, learned to better accept failure, and two months later got the award because somebody else turned it down. Just something else to remind me that nothing is done without his will behind it, and nothing with his will behind it can be undone.

Tony, Congratulations on your new job! I love that when you reconciled yourself to the notion that you could let go of the scholarship, God gifted you with it later. I love “Nothing is done without his will behind it, and nothing with his will behind it can be undone.” What a mighty God we serve!

“If this plan or action is of men, it will be overthrown; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them; or else you may even be found fighting against God.”
Wow, what a powerful reminder, thanks Lynn

It reminds me to press into the scripture: “Let the beloved of the Lord rest secure in Him.”
