Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. (James 4:8)
When you made the last call on your cell phone, did you get clear reception?
In the twenty-first century, most of us stay connected with our families, careers, and ministries with some kind of a cellular, whether it’s a dinosaur like I own, or a smart phone with all the bells and whistles.
What determines a clear signal?
According to cnet.com, the closer you are to a cell tower and the more powerful signal you receive from the cell tower, the more bars you’re likely to have. The farther you get from the tower, the more interference you may experience. If the signal strength is too low, you may have trouble completing a call or receiving data. And if you can make a call, the likelihood that a call may drop or a data connection is interrupted is higher.
It seems the closer we get to God, the closer He gets to us. And the farther away we drift, somehow things get scrambled when we go to sort out His message.
In the world of turbo-charged digital superhighways, what allows us to get a 5-bar connection with God? Spending time alone with Him with no interference from the TV, computer, or radio provides for me the best flow of God thoughts. Emotionally, what brings a greater signal strength? For me, when there’s a quiet time and place to be alone, I listen for the voice of God. Often, He tells me to forgive others and release their offenses. I do this with His help.
When do we best webstream the Holy Spirit? Divine vision, both corporate and personal, seems to surface the most when we practice the presence of God. Simplicity. Singularity. Listening and waiting. Get in the 5-bar zone.
When you pray, under what circumstances do you get five bars in your connection with God?
When do you experience the most interference? In those times, what can you do to gain better reception?
